Edius 6 Resources & Training

So, you have decided to purchase Grass Valley Edius 6. Now its time to learn how it works so you can use it to its full potential. There are some great online resources to do this. 

Firstly its important to register your Grass Valley products. This will then enable you to utilise updated drivers and software upgrades. You can do this at http://www.grassvalley.com/support This is very important if you are upgrading from an older version of Edius and using the NX card.

Next, take a look at the forums, and sign up for an account there. This will ensure you can browse all the discussions and post a question when you need to know how to do something in particular. http://forum.grassvalley.com/forum/index.php

If you are on Facebook, there is a user group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/EDIUSUSERSGROUP/

Grass Valley have a very good tutorial set which is ideal for starting out with Edius and Non linear editing or if moving to Edius from another product. You can sign up for an account with the GV University here: https://grassvalley.csod.com/selfreg/register.aspx?c=gvedius6

OnScreen Training have a very good tutorial set. The basic one is free and this goes through all the settings and basic usage of the program and some of its filters. http://www.onscreentraining.com/video-editing?page=shop.browse&category_id=14

DVC has three very good videos that hgo through some of the ‘secrets’ of Edious and helps with learning the quick tricks. http://www.dvc.uk.com/acatalog/EDIUS.html

To really learn how to use the colour tools in Edius, Matts tutorial videos are great. Start with http://vimeo.com/27292117

and then go through all the tutorials in that section before moving onto the others available. http://vimeo.com/matthewtscott/videos

After going through that lot, you should be pretty comfortable with the software.
